Early influences could have come from my mother's sewing on an old treddle Singer late into the night. The sound of the wheel going grrrm, brrrm might have woven coloured threads through me. My grandfather was a painter who made clear and quiet compositions of the Karoo and Kommetjie. My father wrote short stories.

I initially worked as a draughtswoman, layout artist and sign writer. I later studied at University of South Africa (MA/FA).

I exhibit locally and internationally. I live and work in Noordhoek.
