In 2005 I learnt how to hand coil clay into pots and recently to make portraits.

About the Five energies bowl (2004): The idea of the round relates to earth and the container as meaning for both practical and metaphorical. Images emerge as jik is traced through tissue paper, like "invisible" ink. The work is a meditation about fullness and emptiness, making this a constant reminder to empty one’s mind and sink down within one’s being in order to connect with oneself and environment.

The face itself is in a continual process of change, revealing not only passages and ravages of time and character, but approached as a container, the portrait reflects the impact of environmental traces and patterns.
